Up in Sonoma, most of our oaks are the scrubby kind that keep their leaves all year round. In San Jose, the few oaks are more the deciduous kind. But they do have really interesting strings of pollen thingys which are in full bloom right now. Ironically, loads of pollen seem to be a theme in Raintree County, a novel that was once touted as The Great American Novel. I'm slogging my way through it and I'm not impressed.
