20/365: Cauliflower
I've been slacking off on my winter planting. But I have had a bumper crop of lettuces -- which in hot Sonoma are best as a winter crop. But one winter crop that I have had success with is cauliflower -- which all the gardening books warn should not be attempted by amateurs. I grow all the colored ones, the orange that has beta carotene and the green like this one. I think they taste much better than white, but it might just be that I cook them the day I pick them and, apparently, cauliflower gets stronger day by day after it's picked.
